MJTec Consulting and Research is led by Dr. Mazin Yousif, who has worked with many clients during his tenure at various Managed Service Providers (MSP). His main focus has been helping clients in their digital transformation journey and working with them to, first, define digital strategies, business value proposition, and then put together the respective technology and business radars to achieve it. He also brings extensive breadth and depth in technology from his many years working for IBM, Intel and Gainwell Technologies.
Furthermore, he co-founded two startup companies – Fractal Technologies (developing a layer-1 blockchain) and Avirtec (a Cybersecurity company leveraging Machine Learning) also has also served on the board of two more startups. He is an Entrepreneur in-Residence at Ann Arbor Sparks as well as a Mentor-in-Residence, representing the University of Michigan at the Great Lakes I-Corps Hub.

- @Gainwell Technologies, Chief Technologist, led company-wide greenfield ERP SAP S/4 HANA landscape with tons of other SAP and 3rd party applications
- @DXC, Chief Technology Officer, responsible for DXC’s Energy and Oil&Gas clients’ focusing on expanding their business value through digital transformation
- @ T-Systems International, (Bonn, Germany) Vice President of Cloud and Digital Transformation working with clients in manufacturing, energy, and transportation on defining digital strategies, piloting and deploying IoT/IIoT solutions for various use cases such as preventive maintenance, video surveillance, work safety…
- @ T-Systems International, (Bonn, Germany) Chief Technology Officer for the Royal Dutch Shell Global account. There, he led all the technologies & services delivered to Shell
- @ IBM, Canada (Toronto, Canada), Chief Technology Officer, Cloud Computing at IBM Global Technology Services (GTS), where he oversaw the development and growth of the cloud market in Canada, as well as developing IBM’s internal organizations to support cloud efforts in Canada.
- @Avirtec (Tucson, AZ), a technology startup on Cybersecurity, leveraging machine learning on various communication stack layers to detect security attacks
- @ Intel (Portland, OR), Director and Principal Engineer with focus on platforms, virtualization, energy efficiency for datacenters, phase change memory (PCM) role in servers and datacenters, flash, networking, and more. At Intel, I designed a virtualization approach referred to as Scale-out Virtualization (SoV) – an Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud – and talked publicly about it at the 2005 Supercomputing conference.

- @ Louisiana Tech University (Ruston, LA), Assistant Professor in Computer Science, teaching computer science courses and conducting related research.
Dr. Yousif served as a non-executive Director and Board Member for Simudyne Corporation, as well as for Stafford&Associates, LLC. He chaired (2008 – 2016) the Advisory Board of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM). He also served as the Editor-In-Chief of the IEEE Cloud Computing Magazine for two terms. He founded the NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for Autonomic Computing. He was a principal leader in defining the InfiniBand Architecture and co-chaired the management working group in the InfiniBand Trade Association. He was an adjunct professor at several universities including Duke, North Carolina State University, the Oregon Graduate Institute, and the University of Arizona. He has served as the General Chair or Program Chair for many conferences and serves in the editorial board of many journals. He is a frequent speaker at academic and industry conferences on topics related to digital transformation, cloud computing, IoT, big data, and autonomic computing. He has also published extensively (more than 100 articles) and was an IEEE Distinguished Visitors Program speaker from 2008 – 2013.
Dr. Yousif finished his Master’s (Electrical Engineering) and Ph.D. (Computer Engineering) degrees from the Pennsylvania State University in 1987 and 1992, respectively.
